THOUGHTS
May 22, 2020
We had a gully-washer earlier this week with hail and thunder for added drama. I love listening to it pound on my metal roof and observing it dimpling the swimming pool out my French doors. When Robin was three, and we were about to go outside she said while struggling to put on her jacket, "We can't go out there! There's weather outside!"
But coming soon is hot, hot swimming pool weather - well some grandkids have been swimming for a couple months in the freezing pool already looking like popsicles. Tomorrow the cousins will practice social distancing in the pool. Will pool noodles be needed?

Here's a repost from 2013
The dark clouds gathered, not ominously, but promising rain. They were so full, one pin prick could send down gushers. Sure enough after the hail, rain fell in thin sheets as if trying to wash away every blossom from the trees the wind and hail had left on. (Not so good for the fruit farmers here though.) Yellow daffodils and tulips are still waving however. The pastures are full of fresh, slightly damp calves wanting their mamas.
"I am longing for the Spring as I never did before--
for the sight of leaves and flowers,
and the song of birds, and the daily development
of the great natural pageant of the year.
I am grateful to God for nothing more than the abundant beauty
with which He has adorned His Creation."
"Some people dance in the rain.
Others just get wet."
"The person who dances with you in the rain
will most likely be the one to walk with you in the storm."
"When it rains, look for rainbows.
When it's dark, look for stars."
An old saying:
"The weather's so bad that nothing's stirring
but mad dogs and Methodist preachers."
"In fury and terror
The tempest broke;
It tore up the pine
And shattered the oak,
Yet the hummingbird hovered
Within the hour,
Sipping clean rain
From the trumpet flower."
"Repent therefore and return, that your sins may be wiped away
in order for times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."
Acts 3:19
Are you in a storm?
Become washed clean in newness of life.
Prepare your heart for times of refreshing.
