THOUGHTS

March 31, 2020

"Yesterday,
all my troubles seemed so far away,"
or was that the day before?
"Help me out here friends,
is it yesterday or today?"

Thank heavens literally that
"Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday, today, yes and forever."
Hebrews 13:8

By the way, that ditty they taught us in school
has really come in handy when trying to
remember what day it is at the end of the month,
 "thirty days hath Sept..."
It means I am still one day from April Fools Day,
I think.

Somehow this whole solitary, sanitary life has really made me think.
I never imagined having to glove up and use clorox wipes on my
grocery bags and the items inside.
Hmm.

"Life is short.
Smile while you still have teeth."
Something else I've become aware of
is what a messy eater I am.
Does anybody else suddenly realize
how much their fingers get near their mouths?
Finger licking good ain't in vogue anymore,
but what if dark chocolate gets on my fingers?
Aren't there any exceptions?
Hmm.

"Look at the birds of the air,
that they do not sow,
neither do they reap,
nor gather into barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not worth much more than they?"
Matthew 6:26

I dedicate the following quotes to the ones
who found a bird in the house yesterday...

"Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
and never stops at all."
Emily Dickenson

"That little bird has chosen his shelter.
Above it are the stars and the deep heaven...
Yet he is rocking himself to sleep
 without caring for tomorrow's lodging,
calmly clinging to his little twig,
and leaving God to think for Him."
Luther
