THOUGHTS

March 22, 2020

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress,
or persecution, or famine, or nakedness,
or peril, or sword?
...But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer
through Him who loved us.
For in all these things we overwhelmingly
conquer through Him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present,
nor things to come, nor powers, nor height,
nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:35, 37-39

Last night, Amy decided to light the outdoor fire pit,
and the kids sang karaoke and danced in the firelight
while their dad could watch and listen from his ring security camera
while at work.  I crawled out of my cocoon, crossed the pond (the pool), and joined them
while trying to stay six feet away.  I didn't turn into a social butterfly,
but returned into my cocoon, but what a fun, joyful, relaxing time it was.

We may socially isolate, cocoon in place, isolate,
but we need not ever separate ourselves from God
because He has promised never to separate
Himself from those who love Him.
You can belong to God, but you might
find yourself desiring to draw even closer.

Another excerpt from Colonel Brengle's "The Way of Holiness..."

"Finally, we should be holy, because we are most solemnly assured that without holiness 'no man shall see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14), and God has made all things ready, so that we may have the blessing if we will, thus leaving those who refuse or trifle and fail without excuse."

"I bless Him that years ago, He wakened me to the infinite importance of this matter, sent holy people to testify to and explain the experience, enabled me to consecrate my whole being to Him, and seek Him with all my heart, and He gave me the blessing."

"Will you have it, my Comrade?  If so receive Jesus as your Sanctifier just now."

My idols I cast at Thy feet,
My all I return Thee who gave;
This moment the work is complete,
For Thou art almighty to save.

O Saviour, I dare to believe,
Thy blood for my cleansing I see;
And, asking in faith, I receive
Salvation, full, present, and free."

"Unlimited faith is at our disposal.  Through the enabling of the Holy Spirit, the believer
can serve valiantly, endure patiently, suffer triumphantly, and if need be die gloriously."
William MacDonald
