DECEMBER 2019
For the rest of Advent,
I will bring back Christmas

Letters. Isn't it interesting that the person who gets the most handwritten letters in the whole wide world is make-believe? Way to go Big Man! Hank used a computer this year to write his list and printed it, then asked the question he asks every year, "Is there really a Santa Claus?" I answered like I have the last few years, "Saint Nick was a real person who we honor with the legend of Santa Claus" After all, the boy is eleven. It's time. There's another who writes the most letters that have lasted the test of time. God. Have you read his letters lately?
"Sometimes I just look up and smile and say, 'I know that was you God! Thanks."
"Write your troubles in sand, and your blessings in stone."
"I adjure you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the brethren."
(I Thessalonians 5:26)

A Christmas ditty goes, "He's making a list and checking it twice.
Gonna find out who's naughty and nice..."
The New Testament begins with a long list, the geneology of Jesus. Many would consider it boring except for the mention of prostitutes and King David. Random people, naughty and nice, woven together in prophecy to bring the very presence of God to us.
