CHRISTMAS 2019

Another selection from the past...

Christmas music.  I think I have permanent recliner hair from reading, writing, and listening to Christmas music.  If you see me like this, know that I don't tease the back of my hair, I just forgot to use my brush.  Music can be so heavenly that it can bring chills of delight and tears to my eyes.  Growing up, Julie Andrews was my favorite Fireside record.  Listening to Charlotte Church, Josh Groban, Andre Bunicheli and Celtic Women are my picks for sure bliss.  Of course, the "Messiah," is played several times.  I know there are new electronic ways to listen with the internet, but I'm just adjusting from records to tapes to CDs though my husband has mastered his Bluetooth.  My favorite Christmas songs?  "Greensleeves" also known as "What Child is This?".  Also, I must include, "O Holy Night," "Sweet Little Jesus Boy," and a contemporay song, "Mary, Did You Know?"

There is something divine touch of creativity of the nativity which has inspired artists and musicians for two thousand years.  Partake of the heavenly song begun by the angels.

"Sir Christemas,"
by Richard Smart (1435-1477)

"Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,
Who is there singeth so, Nowell?
I am here, Sir Christmas,
Welcome my lord Sir Christemas!
Welcome to us all both more and less!
Come near, Nowell.
Christ is now born of a pure maid;
In an ox stll he is laid.
The which causeth you for to sing: Nowell.
Wherefore sing we all...And sing with us joyfully:
Nowell.
 "Good news of a great joy..."
Luke 2:10
