Tree is up!
Sparkling white lights
appear like a burst of tiny stars.

"Where were you...
When the morning stars sang together?"
Job 38:4, 7

The rest of the Christmas decorations will be trickling in.
Now, if only our little cast iron stove was up and ready
to send out heat with gas flames licking up fake logs.
Alas after installation, it was found that it is set up
to use propane while we have natural gas.
A nice man has promised to order and install a conversion kit
which we hope arrives before next summer.

A selection from John Wesley's "A Plain Account of Christian Perfection"
speaks of flames of holy love.

"I concluded in these words: 'Here is the sum of the perfect law the circumcision of the heart.  Let the spirit return to God that gave it, with the whole train of its affections.  Other sacrifices from us He would not, but the living sacrifice of the heart hath He chosen.  Let it be continually offered up to God through Christ, in flames of holy love.  And let no creature be suffered to share with Him; for He is a jealous God.  His throne will be not divide with another; He will reign without a rival.  Be no design, no desire admitted there, but what has Him its ultimate objective.  ...'Desire not to live but to praise His name; let all your thoughts, words, and works tend to His glory.'"
