Politics is rooted in freedom bought with a price in our country.  We have free speech, and Constitutionally given protection of other rights, but that does not allow us to be disobedient to the law of the land.  To do otherwise is anarchy.  Yet, the good guys do not always win.

Adam Clarke explains it "...where the laws are not in opposition to the laws of God, it may be very soundly and rationally said: 'Genuine Christians have nothing to do with the laws but to obey them.'"  He goes to say, "The meaning of St. Peter appears to be this: the Jews thought it unlawful to obey any ruler that was not of their own stock; the apostle tells them they should obey the civil magistrate, let him be of what stock he may, whether a Jew or a Gentile, and let him exercise the government in whatsoever form...."

 "'For the punishment of evil doers'  This was the object of their mission; they were to punish delinquents, and encourage and protect the virtuous....God, as the supreme governor, shows them that it is His will that they should act uprightly and obediently at all times...."

It brings to mind the mob rule that chanted, "We have no king, but Caesar," before they crucified Christ.  He was mocked by having a crown of thorns pressed onto his head as the Romans said, "Behold the king of the Jews."  But true Justice is coming when Christ our king returns.

With Sanctuary this and Sanctuary that, states are defying the Federal Government's laws.  In our states, wrong doers are being set free at an alarming rate so that crime is creeping up in our communities.  The courts are overthrowing the laws passed by the will of the people.  The struggle goes on.

One of the demonic laws passed in some states and embraced by every Democratic presidential candidate is infanticide, the killing of babies up to the time of birth, even those who survive an abortion.  This is an example of a time we must stand up for the will of God vs the will of man.  We do not have to submit to evil, to go against the law of God.

To be silent, to do nothing is to participate in the godless lawlessness of evil.  To obey our leaders, does not mean we can not speak up.  We must speak up or morality dies and evil prevails.
